User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 I know you'll detest such a general report without details, but this is a very serious report. Something broke between rc1 and rc3, and the browser is significantly less stable. 1.4rc1 was stable enough I was using it all day long for my normal job. 1.4rc3 is so unstable that I'm unable to use it for 10 minutes without having to kill it using the task manager. Nothing else on this system has changed for more than 3 months, and no other instabilities have been noted. Is there any sort of log I can get? The browser does not crash per se .. but the windows stop updating. If I minimize and then open again, only the frame appears. Only by going into task manager and killing off the Mozilla process can I browse again. During this period, no other applications are affected. I can minimize all Mozilla windows and keep working for hours without any stabiliy issues. I can browse using MSIE (ugh) while Mozilla is out to lunch. Once in a great while, Mozilla comes back to life -- but invariable hangs again within 2 or 3 browser clicks. It never lasts long after it's gotten unhappy. I know this is general - I work in software, and I would hate to get this bug report. Tell me what I can do to get more information for you. One and only one thing I've noted which may or may not be related -- if a website suddenly slows down transmission -- if the http/1.1 session slows to a crawl or pauses, it produces this exact same problem affecting all windows. I can reproduce that using extreme per-session bandwidth controls on a intermediary router. But this doesn't seem to be the problem with all sites, and may or may not be related. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browse web pages, any Actual Results: At some point the windows will stop updating, and the cursor cannot be moved. Tab selection appears to work, but you can't enter anything in any input field. If you minimize and then maximize you'll never see the content of the window again :-( Expected Results: Be as stable as rc1? Native install, no real browser preference changes except for e-mail accounts.
1.5 appears to resolve the stability issues that were present throughout 1.4
