Middle mouse button on scrollbar trough is nutty with pasting

I'm on Linux/x86/GTKfe, using the head of the Mozilla 1.4 branch, and XUL (or
are they XBL? whatever) widgets rather than 'native' widgets.
So, I'm browsing a textbox or editing an email and I use the middle mouse button
to click in the empty area of the scrollbar trough (which usually means 'zap
straight to this point', and indeed this is what it does), and then bizarrely I
get my current copy-buffer pasted to the text area (again 'paste' is common and
semi-expected behaviour for a middle-button-click on X11, but not when clicking
in a scrollbar)!

(My choice of Component was a bit arbitrary, yes, but seemed as appropriate to
me as the alternatives.)

Bug 70698 isn't quite what I'm describing (the symptoms are different [the text
goes in the corresponding textarea, not the scrollbar widget itself] and the
cause is wider [happens when pasting in the trough, not the arrows]).
Maybe close enough though...
