(Reporter: vshiff, Unassigned)
Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425
Build Identifier: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.4/mozilla-win32-1.4-installer.exe
Installer completes, mozilla crashes on first run and subsequent attempts to
run. No feedback agent but MS must close message with send report to MS
appears. Happens with 1.31 installed and uninstalled, also with McAfee 7
running or disabled and with Ad-watch 3 running or disabled.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mozilla 1.4
2. Install completes and tries to launch browser
3. Mozilla 1.4 crashes, Talkback agent does not launch, MS must close message
appears.
Actual Results:
Mozilla 1.4 crashes, Talkback agent does not launch, MS must close message
appears. Check with task manager, installer has exited, mozilla is not running.
Same crash on subsequent run attempts.
Expected Results:
install and run Mozilla 1.4
After installing 1.4, tried XP's system restore to just before 1.4 install.
1.31 wouldn't run, but hangs upon displaying the splash image. After
uninstalling 1.31 and re-installing, 1.31 runs normally. Same result with
Ad-watch 3 running or disabled or McAfee 7 runnong or disabled.
Computer is Sony Vaio PCV-RX650 w/ p-4, 512mB DDRSDRAM, ATI Radion 9000 display
adapter (replacement) with 6.13.10.6200 driver.
OS is XP Home, build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633 (sp1)
Installer size is 12,263,120 bytes on 2 separate downloads.
This might be the same as or similar to bug 209896 but this is a different OS
and Mozilla build. XP does not have the Win 2000 debugger stuff so I can't tell.
