User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 Build Identifier: Mozilla.org version 1.4 Uninstalled Ver. 1.3. Installed Ver 1.4. When it tries to launce it creates an invalid page fault in module unknown (not sure of the "unknown" have tried this many times). No part of Mozilla actually starts that I can see. Uninstall 1.4 (actually says 1.4 in "Add/Remove Programs). Reinstall 1.3 and all is well. Useing win 98 SE. Did not specify quick launce. Shut computer down (power off), restart, same result. I will redo all this and copy the page fault details if will help Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.See details 2. 3. Actual Results: Mozilla created an Invalid page fault Expected Results: Mozilla 1.4 to launch
Some more details might be helpful. Bug 211600 has another report of this, though it's possibly unrelated. Updating video drivers might help

OK I will recreate and record the page fault dump
Here is the page fault dump: MOZILLA caused an invalid page fault in module XPCOM.DLL at 018f:610f0769. Registers: EAX=4d7a6f6d CS=018f EIP=610f0769 EFLGS=00010202 EBX=00000000 SS=0197 ESP=0065f630 EBP=0065f654 ECX=00784094 DS=0197 ESI=610f3b40 FS=1dc7 EDX=317b0fff ES=0197 EDI=0078b990 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 8b 00 3b c3 74 21 33 f6 80 38 00 74 1a 8b 4d 08 Stack dump: 00000000 80000000 00785b00 610f3b40 00784070 00000000 00000001 00784078 00000000 0065faa8 610d7a7e 00785b04 00784070 0078baa0 00788f40 610f6084
Assuming all the crashes have been in XPCOM.DLL, this is something different than before. Make sure you uninstall all versions of Mozilla, Netscape 6, Netscape 7, etc you have installed. Then install Mozilla 1.4 into a new directory. Either an old version of a file was sticking around, or a third-party plugin was left behind, that was incompatible. In any case this should take care of the problem. Please give it a try and report back.
Whiteboard: possibly dupe of bug 205277
That did it - it's working fine. Uninstalled 1.3, installed 1.4 in a new directory, all is well. Thank you very much. I really like the product and I like to keep it up to date.
