User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030620 Mozilla Firebird/0.6
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030620 Mozilla Firebird/0.6

If have cookie warnings enabled and you click on a link that leads to a page
with cookies you see the cookie warning as a sheet. (i.e. and Mac OS X modal dialog)

If you click that link and then click another open window, the cookie sheet will
be attached to the second window and not the one that is loading the page.

Since the timing ont his one is important, it is hard to tell if this is an
Every time or a Sometimes thing.

I tried this in Mozilla and did not see the problem... but it is tricky to
reporoduce and maybe I did not try long/hard enough.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In the privacy preference, turn on "Enable Cookies" and "but ask before
accepting"
2. Open two seperate browser windows
3. In the second window load a page with a link to another site that will set a
cookie.
4. In the second window click the link, and then before the new page loads (or
the cookie warning shows up) click on the first window to make it forground/focused.

Actual Results:
You will see the Cookie warning sheet attached to the first window.

Expected Results:
I would expect the cookie warning sheet to be attached to the second window that
was trying to load the site/page setting the cookie.

I think this is already another bug, but this is especially annoying because the
cookie sheet BLOCKS the url of the active window.

This is a problem because you can mistakenly thinkg you are blocking an
unexpected cookie for window one when in reality you should be accepting that
expected cookie for window two. (Sure youc an see the site name in the cookie
details, but that's not useful if you can't also see the URL of the window...
When casually surfing, I don't always pay close enough attention to the URL.)

I'd reccomend simply making the cookie warning NOT a sheet... Make it a movable
modal dialog so that you can see the URL.

Yes...

I just downloaded the latest & greatest build
(http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firebird/nightly/latest-trunk/) which seems to be
from 2003-7-15.

It does still have the same problem.
sounds like the parent window isn't being set correctly, in which case...
