Confirming. As comment 1 says, this is virtually impossible to do right (firefox gives you nautilus whether you like it or not). But we wouldn't turn it down if it worked.

Could bug 386519 be related to this bug? It has an unreviewed patch attached.
This seems to work for me in SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1 and higher, I get nautilus now as we follow the setting specified with GNOME. Please don't confuse this with bug 140751, teaching us to read settings from KDE is something different but will make this work in the correct way basically automatically.
