Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030517 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4b) Gecko/20030517 Mozilla Firebird/0.6 If you access the context menu of items within folders of the personal toolbar and then get rid of the menu by clicking anywhere but on the name of the folder in question, the folder remains open .(while the contents disappear, you will notice that the folder icon indicates it is still open). As a result you cannot type text in _any_ text field (within the browser or in webpages). If you do not close the folder manually by clicking on it, Firebird will eventually crash while performing random tasks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a folder on the personal toolbar. 2. Right clik on any sub-item to bring up the context menu. 3. Now click on any option or click any where else (except on the folder name or icon) to get rid of the menu and submenu. Actual Results: The folder icon indicates that it is still open. Consequently you cannot type text into _any_ text field unless you close the folder in question manually by clicking on it. If you continue surfing with the folder icon remaining open (and you not being able to type anything into any text field), Firebird will eventually crash. Expected Results: Firebird should close the folder automatically if the mouse focus shifts anywhere else. Alternatively, having the folder remain open should not prevent you from typing in text and should not cause the browser to eventually crash.
Could be a flat dup of bug 210910 but I don't believe the loss of text entry or crashing has been reported before. Do you have a Talkback ID from a crash?

I tried crashing it again, but could not. When I had repetitive crashing due to the folder icon remaining open, I had the tabbrowser extension installed. I have since uninstalled it. Maybe there was some sort of conflict there..
So Apurva, if this doesnt crash for you anymore, please marks it as WORKSFORME.
But I still can't enter text into any text field while those folder icons remain open. So basically only half the problem is solved. Should I still mark it as WORKSFORME?
taking QA contact, sorry about the bugspam

This is a closer dupe to bug 197227, so I'll mark it as such, but that's getting duped to bug 210910 as its the same issue, just a different symptom. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 197227 ***
