User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030728 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1 Clicking on this url-link (see above) from the major site : http://www.faltplatte.de/html/0101_wbs7.html - click on tab "Vertrieb" (lower left of the page) makes the browser freeze completely. Firebird cannot be closed by any means, the computer cannot be rebooted or shut down normally. I have to reset the whole machine. After booting the machine anew, DiskDoctor has to fix lost clusters, invalid entries and some things more. It really **** up the whole system. With IE 6 sp1 the link can be clicked normally and the page behind it gets displayed (sure : with errors on page) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to http://www.faltplatte.de/html/0101_wbs7.html 2.Find the link that sais "VERTRIEB" (5th from the bottom - on the very left) 3.Click on this link Actual Results: Browser crashes, can't be closed, Windows can't shut down normally. Expected Results: Simply display the page behind the link and report there are some errors on it
What happens if you go to Tools -> Options -> Web Features and uncheck Load Images before you click on that "Vertrieb" link? Do you have a Nvidia graphic card? Try upgrading to new drivers.
Works for me using the 20030729 build on W2K. Please try a current nightly with a fresh profile as detailed in http://firebird.bric.de/index.php?page=bugs
WFM with linux. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030729 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1
To Hasse : Yes .. i have Nvidia TNT2 M64 and after updating the drivers the page loads fine. Also loading the page without the pictures does work. Just - what does IE do that it can load the page without the updated drivers ? To Simon (Try a nightly built) : I might check that later (if i'm in the mood to downgrade my drivers again). So far the new drivers work, although i don't think it's wise to make a browser that only works with the latest updates of whatever a computer's made of. Some folks don't even know what drivers are ... My profile was brandnew. Anytime i try a new built of Firebird, i delete all the files i have in the programm- and the Phoenix-folders. I only reuse the Bookmark.html, cause sorting the imported bookmarks is a bitch (hope they fix that soon). Although i found out that cutting and pasting the bookmarks will get them in alphabetical order after they've been moved back and forth from one folder to the other once. To gode (WFM with linux) : ??? I don't get the sense of this message ...
