It comes out as pure punctuation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Expected Results: print normal hebrew text.

Works for me.... Some Windows printer drivers have an option to print TrueType fonts as graphics, which may help.
I also tried with Mozilla 1.5a release Gecko/20030718 On Red Hat Linux 9 and it also does not work.
OS: Windows 98 → All
CONFIRM with 1.4 XFt build on RedHat 9. Hebrew prints either as punctuation only, or in case of links- only the underline gets printed. Is this bug report the same as bug 24824 or is printing via XPrint busted when using a xft build?
Do you use Xprint or not? I don't think Xft build has an issue with Xft build. Xft builds available at ftp.mozilla.org, however, are built with Xprint disabled. So are RH's rpm (Xft+gtk2). If you compile from the source with either Xprint and/or freetype, you should be able to print Hebrew pages. That is, both Xprint and freetype printing should work fine with Xft build as long as they're enabled at the compilation time.

Vote for bug 224764 I've just filed if you want gtk2+Xft build on mozilla.org with freetype enabled :-) See also the printing section of 'international known issues' in mozilla release notes.
