User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 The "block unrequested popup windows" works terrible, it either blocks all popups when selected or if not selected blocks none. It never blocks only unrequested popups. Test case http://www.thegroveofanaheim.com/ Click any show name on the right, javascript:openwindow('shows/show_popup.asp?ShowID=35') If popup blocking of unrequested popups is selected nothing happens. If play a sound is selected no sound plays, popup is still blocked. If popup blocking of unrequested windows is not selected site functions OK. But the idea of being able to block "unrequested" popups is great, and the idea of playing a sound or other alert is great as well. However if I clicked a link that is hardly an unrequested popup. This makes Mozilla unuseable as sites are designed. We want to be in control. With IE we have no control, if a web designer wants to send us 30 popup windows there is nothing that we can do. With Mozilla we are supposed to be in control. But it is not reasonable to have to muck with the preferences in Mozilla to allow popups that clearly should be allowed, since I clicked the link. This is broken. I would guess it affects all windows releases, most likely all releases. Windows 98 Mozilla 1.4 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Why is this in XP APS? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. http://www.thegroveofanaheim.com/ 2. Click any show link on right. 3. If popup blocking is selected nothing happens 4. Disabling popup blocking results in desireable popup caused by clicking link 5. I also get undesired popups at the same time. Actual Results: Nothing happens, the site is non functional. Expected Results: Allowed popups that are the result of my click, blocked unrequested ones like the settings imply.

it works fine for me, winXP, Mozilla 1.4 Can you please try with a new profile?
Summary: block unrequested popup windows does not work. → block unrequested popup windows does not work.
I made a new profile and tried it. Seems the same. It still blocks all popups. Or none as selected. Any further testing you would like performed?

I'm afraid I can't reproduce this problem on this site, either. For the record, I am using the current 1.5 beta on Windows 98 SE: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030827 (Note to bug stewards: should this go under "XP Apps" instead of "Browser-General"?)
This function still does not work for me. I was getting atdmt ad popups repeatedly when browsing http://www.ajc.com/opinion/content/opinion/luckovich/2003/101503.html And on http://cherylhines.com/ I got multiple popups. Blocking popups works, but the sounds do not play when popups are blocked. I realize this works for some people, I have two computers with mozilla and this functions same on both. Or does not function. The google toolbar popup blocker works fine on IE 5.5 or above, what does it take for the google toolbar to be useable on Mozilla? Windows 98 SR2 Mozilla 1.5b Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030808

Clicking the link doesn't work for me until the page is fully loaded using Mozilla 2003121608 on Windows 98. This is bug 101190. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 101190 ***
