215153 - download manager fails to come up and i cannot download anything anymore

cannot get download manager to come up - either from tools menu or when i try a
download . i checked the javascript console to see if an exception is occuring
and it does seem to be. the message is:

this hasn't been a problem until recently. i can't recall any changes i've made
to mozilla or plugins that might explain why this started occuring. i used to
have a newmonster.org plugin that i have gotten rid of for performance releases
 a while ago.

oops! too many typos! the plugin i got rid of for performance "reasons" is from
"newsmonster.org".
