User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030718 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5a) Gecko/20030718 I've got complex mailing lists. I always attempt to simplify these using the thread sort. Have been dissatified with results in past because the process incorrectly created a "thread" often. With the r1.5a build, there seems to be a hard lockup that forces me to reboot my machine to that any Mozilla functionality backup. This occurred 4 times. Before I learned not to do this with r1.5a and decide to move back to a version that works. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click on the 'threaded' column of a complicated mail list. 2.If a lockup doesn't occur, feal lucky! 3. Actual Results: The KDE desktop locks up. The status bar menu system is healty, but the re-boot process locks up and a shut power off process is needed. Expected Results: I'd like groups of related messages to be displayed in a heirarchal display. In past versions, often these grouping associated non-related messages, but didn't lock up my system.
Mozilla shouldn't be able to lock up your system. what video card do you have and what XFree86 driver are you using? do you use xfs (if so, check whether it's running after things go bad)?
Severity: normal → critical
Keywords: hang
Summary: I've had to reboot 3 times now. Its time to move backwares from v1.5a → thread sort results in hang and system reboot
Looks like a dupe of bug 213805, and there's another one too. Is this for an IMAP folder?
If the dupe is agreed, it should be to bug 216513 (interestingly, a simple two-digit transposition of this bug's number) rather than to 213805.
