User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030805 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030805 Mozilla Firebird/0.6.1+ This seems to affect all platforms and also affects Mozilla. I have Firebird installed on Linux, MacOSX, and Win2k and all exhibit this behavior. Based on testing w/nightly builds downloaded within last 14 days. I sure this is a dupe (I would think it is) but I could not find anyone else specifically reporting this. I would paste a screen shot but none of the OS's let me either copy the window or paste it (sure sign of problem, I believe). Could this be moz code mucking up display buffers? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

Louis, if you're still reading this, could you please give us an example URL that fails to work properly, and what exactly you see/don't see? Thanks!
I think he means that image backgrounds (in tables or in body) show up way too late (some seconds after the page is actually done loading...). For Example: I open a new tab, it is done loading and when I switch to that tab the backgrounds still need 3-4 seconds to load (for some weird reason). This always happened to me with mozilla and firebird since the first time I used with a variety of builds. Oh and it's not GIF specific. In any way, it's not a critical bug. Reporter, if you're here tell us if we're talking about the same bug. Steps to reproduce: 1) Open http://www.uruobsession.com/forum/index.php (just an example I found..) in a new tab 2) Switch to another tab and wait until the first tabs finishes loading 3) Switch to the first tab and see that the backgrounds load 4-5 seconds later (I think it downloads them only when you view the page, so it's more obvious on slow connections). If you want to try it again clear your cache..
Cool, thanks, that makes sense! I can confirm this on Mac, too: 20031104 Firebird/0.7+ I'm almost certain it's another duplicate of a very long running Mozilla bug: bug 57607
another page to reproduce this is http://forums.mozillazine.org/ but the page must not be cached to see the bug, if it's cached then it should be Shift+Reloaded.
