Mac installer creates two-byte user directory

Details
with MacOS 8.5 Ja, with NSInstaller 12/10/1999:
1. Delete Mozilla Registry.
2. Install Netscape5 using installer and Profile Manager.
Result: By default, installer on Mac installs user folders in a directory called
"unnamed" (in Japanese characters) on the Japanese OS. The Profile Manager can't
handle two-byte characters (bug #15264). This means Mozilla can't find
bookmarks, sidebar, and other personal items, resulting in flaky behavior and
eventually a crash. The installer should create a directory with a uniform
english name for all systems (such as "Users50"), at least until bug #15264 is
fixed.

Hmmm, after chatting with Allan it appears that this is a Profile Manager bug.
After installing the product, removing the Mozilla Registry, he launched the
product which took him straight to the Profile Manager. It appears that at this
stage he encountered the cited bug. The installer doesn't call the Profile
Manager (-installer) on the Mac, yet, so this doesn't look like an installer bug
per se. Reassigning to Bhuvan.
If the MozillaRegistry is removed, the app should be launched into the
CreateProfileWizard as the number of profiles equals to ZERO. Creating a profile
using the wizard, places the profile information under <Hard
Disk>:Documents:Mozilla:Users50:<profile name>.
Also to migrate the old profiles, please run MozillaInstaller on Mac. That
should get all the 4x info onto the 5x registry.
May be this is an installer issue too...after install the app should be launched
into MozillaInstaller like it does on Windows.
samir.....adding to you the cc list.
If someone else is handling the installtion issues, please let me know.

The installation issue is separate from what Allan alludes to here (Allan please
concur with or differ from my interpretation). He has cited that the name of the
of the folder which is normally "Users50" is being called "unnamed" on the
Japanese version of Mac OS 8.5. Thus, I still believe this is a profile manager
issue. Hope that helps.
Once we turn on launching the profile wizard from the installer this will still
be an issue and hence I believe it should be treated separately. (I logged bug
21655 against myself to track the same.)
