Downloading the same file from two different sourceforge mirrors and saving it
both times as the same filename causes the download manager's status of the file
to flicker back and forth between the two simultaneous downloads, rather than
showing the two downloads as separate items. Selecting the item and clicking
cancel cancels only one of the downloads. From this point on, the cancel button
is greyed out and you cannot cancel the remaining download. If both downloads
are allowed to continue to completion, the file is overwritten each time a
download completes. However, when the last instance completes, the download
manager does not mark the item as "completed".
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the referenced URL
2. Download the file from one mirror
3. Download the file from additional mirrors.
4. Click cancel, or allow the download to complete.
Actual Results:
If cancel is pressed, one of the instances of the downloading file cancels.
However, the other continues, and cancel is disabled.
If both downloading files are allowed to complete, the file is overwritten when
the second download completes. However, the download mananger does not show the
item as "completed".
Expected Results:
Attempting to download the same file multiple times from different sources
should warn the user that the file is already downloading and prompt the user to
choose a different filename, or should automatically save the second file under
a different name (file-1.ext). The downloads should be listed in the download
manager as different downloads.
OR
The second download should be used as a second source, initiating a segmented
download using both sources.
