A few days ago I created a list of 8 addresses in Personal Address Book (it was
the first list in this AB). When I view the list the lower window that displays
Card info oscillates vertically ~ one line of type. Frequency is about5 Hz. The
oscillation also shows in the status line that displays "Total Cards in FOO: 8
.... {Online/Offline icon]"; on the left of the status bar, the icons for
Navigaotr, Mail & Newsgroups, Composer, Address Book & IRC Chat are stable.
When I move through the list with the arrow keys, the information in the Card
window does not change. When I use the mouse, the info does change.
When I click the last item with the mouse, the list itself starts to oscillate,
but does not synch with the Card window. It seems that both windows oscillate
faster after the top window gets started.
After some playing around, sometimes the display becomes stable and remains
stable as long as AB is open, but if AB is closed and reopened, the list
displays the same problem.
Today I created another list of five names, also in Personal Address Book, and I
see no problems so far.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get an Address Book mailing list that displays the problem (I don't know how
I did it.)
2. Display the list.
3.
Actual Results:
Display is messed up. See detailed description above.
Expected Results:
Display the list without the display oscillating.

The problem seems to be that the bar at the bottom of the list window (that
allows resizing of the window) partially obscured the last item in the list.
Because of the oscillation, it was practically impossible to resize the list
window. When I resized the whole addressbook window, proportionally increasing
the size of the list window too, the oscillation stopped. It is also possible to
go to another list and resize the window, and then the list does not oscillate
when viewed again. Once the oscillation stops, it seems that it does not start
again as long as the AB remains open. I've tried to resize the window to see
what happens when my 5-member mailing list is truncated, but the window refuses
to retain that size when I reopen AB, so I have been unable to test this
hypothesis thoroughly.
Reporter, please see bug 201379 comment 39 for a useful testcase of this effect.
That bug was fixed post-1.5a -- Can you reproduce this bug in a recent build?

duping pending any reporter comments to the contrary. Again, this should be
fixed in 1.6 or newer builds.
