User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 mozilla causes reboot on exit, I believe that there is some bug that causes it. Sometimes when I exit mozilla it causes the computer to reboot instantly. Also the whole profile is corrupted and I have to reinstall my mail, mail account can be imported but the bookmarks and other settings are lost. From my experience this has occured when I have had may tabs open and then quit mozilla bu pressing the button on the top right corner. This has occured about 15 times with versons between 1.2-1.4 Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1.open many tabs 2.quit mozilla 3. Actual Results: Instant reboot, loss of data. Expected Results: Exit without rebooting my computer Also, because of the instant reboot, it is difficult to find the talkback crash ID. I use no strange plugins or themes. I have reinstalled mozilla and windows without any difference. My computer is very stable and I have not had a single crash except for this one. I have used mozilla since 0.8 and these problems arrived with 1.2 or mabe 1.3, (the verson that first implemented junk mail controls).
Mozilla can't cause a reboot because it's a userspace application and doesn't run in the CPU ring 0 . (that's true for win NT/2k/XP, Linux, OS X)´but not for win9x) Only a driver can cause this problem and Mozilla triggers only this bug. And yes, it can only happen with Mozilla 1.4 and not with older Mozilla builds or other applications and it's still a driver bug. Disable the automatic reboot in Start\settings\Systemcontrol\system\advanced\.... (translated from a german win2k) and you can possibly see the driver name in the BSOD. -> invalid
