Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030813 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030813 I always read news in view|sort|threaded mode. I have only one NNTP server configured (leafnode on local machine). Occasionally, with no pattern emerging so far, news groups seem to forget their sort order: when I access them, they sometimes come up sorted by date. If this happens, I always reset the sort order to threaded, but sooner or later, they are sure to forget again. I believe (read: I am not absolutely sure) that it has so far never forgotten sort order between restarts of Mozilla - I'll keep an eye on it and update if I see this happening. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Subscribe to a news group 2. Have it sorted by thread 3. Close Mozilla 4. Restart Mozilla 5. Access the news group Actual Results: Sometimes, the news group comes up sorted by date (default sort order?) Expected Results: It should remember sort order, and thus come up sorted by thread BTW, I'm not sure about the Component: is this 'Mail Database', or is it front- or backend?
Still there on Linux trunk CVS 11/11/03
hmm, does it redownload headers, or just forget that you're sorted by thread? Is this after a quick search or something like that?

Ever confirmed: true
It just forgets that I selected 'Sort by Thread' - btw., my original report contains a slight mistake: sort order reverts to 'Order Received', not 'Date'. I'm sure that it's never been after a quicksearch *in the same group*, since it always happens after switching newsgroups (either from another newsgroup, or from reading mail) - if it happens, I'll find the new group to be sorted 'Order Received', which I never intentionally use. In case you mean 'after doing a quicksearch in any other group or mailfolder', I'm not so sure. I'll still say no, since I don't use quicksearch so often, but I'm much less certain about it.
