FTP download results in appending of .gif suffix and attempting to download as
GIF image file. I have to manually delete the suffix and change the file type
to "all files" before each download. I have preferences set to "open a progress
dialog" but seems to be the same using download manager. Seems to be mainly for
files of certain types, e.g. ".exe".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on "Download Mozilla 1.5 Beta for Windows" link
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Observe that header says "Opening Mozilla-Win32-i.5b-Installer-sea.exe.gif" and
the file type is listed as "GIF Image (application/octet-stream).
Doing the same with the Linux link doesn't try .gif file.

Expected Results:
Offer to download as actual file type.

Sorry but your build is to old to report bugs. We accept only bugs from the
latest milestone and that's currently 1.5b

Install 1.5b and remove application/octet-stream from
edit\preferences\Navigator\Helper Apps

-> invalid
