When I click on a page that has a URL in the form of
http://userid:[e-mail] Firebird does not send the basic
authentication to the host

This works using Mozilla 1.4 but fails in Firebird.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.select a bookmark that has a URL in the form of
http://userid:[e-mail] - on the initial selection the basic
authentication is send to the host (verified by an IP trace)

2.enter information in a "from" and click "send" - on the data sent to the http
server the basic authentication is not send to the host (verified by an IP trace)

Actual Results:  
The http server prompts for a userid and password.

Expected Results:  
send the basic authentication to the host when the data is sent to the server.

Is the bookmark aspect important? What happens if you just type in the URL?

Should O/S be set to OS/2?

Yes, the operating system is OS/2

It does not make any difference if the URL is typed in or selected from the
bookmarks.  I used the example of bookmarks as that is how I have it set up.

easy workaround (type in username/password in box)

confirming although this WFM.
