marking as INVALID Steps to not Reproduce: 1. go to http://www.mozilla.org 2. in URL bar type: javascript:void(document.location.replace("http://bugzilla.mozilla.org")) 3a. if you did this in a fresh window the back button will be disabled 3b. if you did this in the URL bar of (e.g.) this bug, then clicking back will bring you back to this bug (not to mozilla.org). I think it makes a lot of sense to store the page in global history, it is a record of all of the pages you have visited. IE does this too.

as it stands in firebird following a replace go(-1) will goto to the replaced page and not the previous page in the history. The defintion of replace in the javascript reference manual states: "does not generate a new entry in the history object" I have code that works fine in internet explorer 6 based on this. it allows you to navigate to a new page whilst allowing a javascript go(-1) to continue to take you back to a set location.

Moving to Browser -> History: Session This is a backend issue, not a frontend issue.

No testcase, empty steps to reproduce, no clear explanation of what the bug is. I'm sorry but there's nothing that can be done with this bug report, so marking invalid. Please feel free to reopen after reading http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html and providing the minimal information needed to fix this bug (which would be a way for someone other than the reporter to reproduce it).
