User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030904 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030917 It's not in the version of Moz that I am using, but all versions beyond that. I go to the forums and after loading the MaxPC bar at the top, the browser hangs on loading ad.uk.doubleclick.net Which should be impossible, because that link is blocked in my HOSTS file under Windows. My present version 2003090404 shows the loading for a millisecond then continues towards the forums. I just tried 20030917 and it hung up on me again. As did 20030915 and 20030914 before it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load forums from bookmark or by typing in the address bar 2. Forums will hang on loading the advert it is supposed to skip 3. Actual Results: - Expected Results: - It wouldn't be a problem if I could press the Stop button and it would show me the forums, but even that it doesn't do. It stops on a white screen with the black ad bar at the top. Force loading with Shift + F5 also stops the forums from loading. Killing the browser completely, then reloading and going directly to the forums will sometimes have effect. But at that time the forum's new posts cookie will have been reset, so it's rather useless.
Oh, do know for the researchers that will follow the link, that the forums have major problems with their database server (something blew up). So you may come across a "phpBB: Critical error can't connect to database" error, or find that the link is extremely slow loading. That's kind of normal. ;)
"... because that link is blocked in my HOSTS file" exactly. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 219150 ***
