User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030918 Firebird/0.6.1+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5b) Gecko/20030918 Firebird/0.6.1+ Sometimes when browsing to a site with a very long URL (such as the one provided above), the URL bar text will be come completely illegible. It looks as if the text has been written twice, the second time slightly offset to the right. I unfortunately cannot reproduce this every time, but it has been happening on and off since I started using Firebird several months ago. I have seen it both on my Win 2000 machine at work and on Win XP at home. I cannot recall if it has happened to me in SeaMonkey since I now only use it to confirm bug reports, I'll start testing that though. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browse to a site with a long URL, usually incorporating a query string. Actual Results: URL bar text cannot be read, text is being partially obscured by other text. Expected Results: URL should be displayed clearly.
This is what the URL bar looked like after visiting the site referenced in the URL field of the bug report.
-> Browser: Location bar I apologize, I spoke too soon. I can now confirm this happens in SeaMonkey (20030917 trunk) and Firebird, and I've provided a longer URL that causes this problem every time for me. To reproduce in SeaMonkey, I have to move my mouse over the location bar. In Firebird it happens immedeately. Even stranger, the URL now exhibits this problem in the URL field of the bug report too, which I never noticed before. The effect is identical to that of the previous screenshot. If this is really a problem with text inputs and not just the URL bar, perhaps this isn't the right component, but I don't know where else to file it at the moment.

The URL provided above works for me (Firebird 0.7, Linux/GTK2+XFT), i.e. the text in the URL bar is not garbled. This bug does show up for me, though, when following these steps: - go to http://selfaktuell.teamone.de/artikel/grafik/inline-images/index.htm; - right-click the black-and-white image (of a person) and choose 'View Image'. Result: the URL bar becomes completely illegible.
Blocks: longlines
Is this still a problem with a more recent build? ==> win32

I don't think I've seen this bug in years, unless someone else pipes up it's probably WORKSFORME.
