Details
I'm running build 1999121612 on Win95. Sometime between the last build I used
(maybe 1999121412?) the scrollbars have started stealing keyboard input. It is
a little intermittant and I haven't isolated what gets it aggrivated. But I've
been trying to correspond about some other bugs tonight and every now and then
even though the cursor has been set in the Description form text area box, the
scrollbars will continue recieving input. It filters down to the text box
though if the scrollbars don't use the keys. For instance. If I was to type:
Hello Johnny Boy
I would see Hello typed followed by the screen paging down, then Johnny would
typpe then scroll down. You get the picture. Also if I type and the include
an up arrow to go to the previous line, it would scroll the screen up a line
instead.
Like I said, it seems intermittent, but it happens often enough that I'm using
IE to fill out the rest of my bug reports tonight.

Correction to my above description. I said it would page down instead of
typing a space when this problem is in effect. Actually it pages down and
types a space. Sorry for the mixup.

Could this be related to bug# 21612?

Checkin at 12/16/1999 18:47 by hyatt@netscape.com says:
Making sure that space key bindings in browser don't fire while in text fields.
Sounds like a fix for this very bug... yes?

The checkin by hyatt that I referenced appears not to have addressed this bug as
I had hoped. As of build 1999121712 I am still seeing the described behaviour.

Just another odd observation. I was filling a mailnews bug report a minute ago
(I forgot and tried to use Mozilla) and noticed a couple more things about this
bug.
To reproduce is fairly consistently, I come here and click in teh additional
comments box and type "dfgsdf gdfg dfg dfg " etc. If the bug doesn't present
itself, I click in the Whiteboard or summary or URL fields and do the same. It
seems to really like to attack when typing in those fields.
Anyway, while I was typing up this mailnews bug, it didn't start paging down on
the spaces, but it did start skipping up a line and a half in the same text box
while I was trying to backspace over a typo. Very weird.
It probably doesn't have diddly to do with this bug, but while I was over in IE
typing all this in, I left mozilla in the background sitting on this bug page
after I reproduce this bug. While I was typing this very bug report I got a
little Win95 window telling me mozilla had an invalid page fault and she
crashed.

As of build# 1999121915 this bug appears "fixed." In many attempts, I have not
got the scrollbar to recieve keyboard input as described in this bug. One thing
else that I have noticed changed as well though is the forward and back arrow
keys move the cursor forward and back with a perceptible lag on my poor old
C6-200. Additionally, the up and down arrow keys have ceased functioning. New
bug for that or make part of this?

Yes, all issues mentioned in this bug appear gone in at least build 2000010908.
Good job!
