Hmm, nobody moved it over.

I just tried to and discovered a small problem.  It won't compile on Linux. 
Either it's just borken or there was Solaris-specific stuff in it. :(

Anyone care to check it out from cvs and see if they can get it to build on
RedHat?  (see bug 220373)

someone cheated. see bug 220373. http://webtools.mozilla.org/web-sniffer/ used
to be our own home grown sniffer, it now redirects offsite.

Does our web sniffer have useful function not included in the external one, that
would justify the effort of getting ours working again?

No. The external was developed by someone in the German Mozilla newsgroups. He 
usually implements improvement suggestions in minutes. It is already much 
better than the internal ever was.

The third-party one we're linking to now does more than ours ever did.  I see no
reason to mess with it.
