In the New Event dialog, then Recurrence, I select Repeat Every 1 Year but then
I want to select a specific day of the week, its not possible. This is useful
for schedules/holidays (e.g Maundy Thursday, Good Friday) wherein you dont know
the date since it only occurs on a day of a week every year).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click New Event
2. Click Recurrence Tab
3. Select Repeat Every 1 Year

Actual Results:
No more options for selecting day of a week, etc

Expected Results:
More options for selecting day of a week, etc
And perhaps it would be a good idea to be able to define dependencies on other
events. F.ex, many holidays, especially around easter, is defined as a certain
number of days after easter. (Ex. Ascension" is easter plus 40 days).

Also, for many holidays, it would be good to be able to define, for example, 1st
Sunday in November every year. Thanksgiving f.ex. is defined as 4th thursday in
November.
Unfortunately it's not that easy... Days like Good Friday aren't on a certain
week every year. You need a complex calculation to figure where it is on a given
year - so complex that it could never be implemented in the recurrence UI.

Are there yearly events that would really use what you suggested?

Sorry for the late reply sometimes i have some difficulty how this bugzilla
works. Andree's suggestion is a good example (Thanksgiving is defined as 4th
thursday in November). Days that aren't on a certain week every year should no
longer be pursued.
Reporter:
I realize this bug was reported first, but is there anything in here you
feel keeps it from being a duplicate of bug 242499? That bug has already been
confirmed, so it may be simpler to just mark this as a duplicate. (Also, see
that bug for a simple work-around.)
spikes,
I'm marking this bug as a duplicate of bug 242499, since you didn't reply
with a reason that makes it distinct and the two seem very similar. If you
strongly disagree with that decision, you can reopen the bug.
