User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20030916 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20030916 I'm running a prerelease of the Mozilla 1.5 browser. The bookmarks include a "Technology Demonstration, SmartFind" underneath the "Mozilla Project" menu. When i try any of the links inside this menu, I get an error dialog with this "find is not a registered protocol." ("Bookmarks containing name 'Mozilla'", etc) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Expected Results: Long ago I remember playing with this feature and being impressed enough to raise an eyebrow. This was back in the pre-1.0 days. Nowadays it seems like a strange feature to include at all.
I've never heard of "Technology Demonstration" bookmarks. Are these bookmarks still present in newer releases?
Yes, I am running Mozilla 1.5 and created a New Profile to test with. The exact menu path to the "Technology Demonstration" bookmarks is this Bookmarks -> Mozilla Project -> Technology Demonstration -> Smartfind queries -> BROKENSTUFF The BROKENSTUFF is 5 or so bookmarks with names like "Bookmark URLs Containing .org". I remember in old pre-1 milestone mozilla's these were actually submenus of all the current bookmarks matching the query. Currently it is a bookmark item that still gives the "find is not a registered protocol" when clicked.
