(Keywords: dataloss)
Steps to reproduce: 1. Open your browser (mine is set with multiple pages as a homepage) 2. Close the browser 3. A dialog pops up asking you if you are sure if you want to close all these open tabs. 4. If you hit "Cancel", the browser closes. Expected result: The browser should not close, since I Canceled that dialog. Tested in 1.5 Adding the keyword dataloss, since closing the browser at that time could mean I'm editing a form field or whatever.

This has been reported before: bug 218009 Do you have any 3rd party components installed?

The only third-party extensions are the calendar and the stumble-upon bar. I'll try it again with a fresh install without additional extensions.

Tried it with the latest nightly 2003-11-03-05 with a profile which I almost never use. => Couldn't reproduce. Tried it with the same build, but by loading my usual profile (backed it up just in case it would break) => REPRODUCED Since no add-ons are installed in my testing version, I first thought that we are looking on the wrong side. But it appears that 2 of my extensions are installed in my profile, these are: - download status bar - stumble upon I'm going to try several new profiles and install separately these 2 add-ons and check wether I can reproduce.

Ok, so stumbleupon bar is not at fault. I couldn't install download status bar since its website is currently down. I installed instead linkvisitor extension into my profile and I couldn't reproduce either. So I guess there must be something else left over in my profile which causes this. However, it's such a pain to move all important data to a fresh profile that I cannot do that right now.

(coming from duplicate 224630) small addition: I tried it today with the keyboard; I used return on cancel when the warning pops up insted of doing a mouse click liek before and it all closed. So it doesn't seem to be a mouse only problem, even though I had a few strange "misdirected clicks" while browsing around (. (my specs: W98se, Moz 1.5rc, AdBlock, Prefbar, Flash for Netsc., no skin (textbuttons)) Maybe I'll try the 1.6alpha or some nightly in the next days.

I have the same problem with Mozilla 1.5 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007) Both on XP and Win2K system. Additional apps installed are Download Statys bar (0.8) and Prefbar. I did do a clean install of Mozilla 1.5 on anohter w2k system. No problems. Then I installed Download Status bar (0.8a) and the problem is there again. So it looks like there is a problem with Download status bar instead of Mozilla.

Confirmation! Yeah! I kicked off download status bar today (the stat. bar version was from Jan 2003) (I just deleted 2 or 3 files of it) and the bug didn't appear yet again... Even in this moment, browsing for a good time, having lots of tabs open, nothing goes wrong. So killing the download status bar makes it work for me. Just pity that I can't use the bar at the moment (was a fine thing, though).

The strange thing about Download Status Bar is that if you downgrade to 0.73, this problem doesn't appear, although it doesn't remove downloads after the specified interval of time and you have to delete downloads.rdf to clear it. Looks like a problem with the latest versions of Download Statusbar. But in case it's not: This also hits Firebird 0.7 with TBE installed as well when using Download Statusbar 0.8. OS should be set to all since it hits Windows 9x and 2K/XP as well.

I have been suffering from this problem for months.. Had a lot of dataloss. Next time I won't install the downloadbar I think... Are the developers for downloadbar informed of this? Would be good if a bugfix was made..

Everything indicates a bug in the "Download Status Bar" extension. Please report it here: http://downloadstatusbar.mozdev.org/bugs.html

It has been reported already, see: http://mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=5121 We should probably mark this as INVALID
