RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 172962

People

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7

when I type a url at the command prompt (i.e., ask the OS to launch the default
browser on the supplied URL), FB opens a new window for the new URL, even though
I already have a FB window open.
Mozilla, OTOH, opens the supplied URL in the current tab.
Both beheviors are useful, but neither is what _I_ want:
I want a NEW tab in the CURRENT window.
Is it possible to add a user option to enable the behavior I want?
thanks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.type http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ in the command window
2.new FB window appears
3.type the same again
4.another window appears

Actual Results:
I get 2 new windows

Expected Results:
two new tabs in an existing window
Probably a wontfix, since you can do this by using the TabBrowser Extension.
Summary: open new tab instead of new window on system launches → open new tab instead of new window on system launches
