Summary: password protection of mail accounts does not work sometimes → password protection of mail accounts sometimes does not work
The steps are a bit incorrect. The whole feature has flaws. At least 2 accounts are required. 1. Open mailnews. 2. Go into some account (I'll call it Account A). 3. Master password is requested. Give it. 4. Password for the POP3 server is requested. (Why??? - if this is intended, I don't like it, I will have to turn the feature off :( It disables the purpose of password manager) 5. Go into another account (Account B) - no password is needed. 6. Download mail for all accounts - notice that mail for account B is NOT checked. 7. Use tools->password manager->logout 8. Go into A - master password is requested. Don't give it, press cancel. 9. The content of the wished folder is shown! 10. Go into B - no password is requested and the folder contents are shown!
Summary: password protection of mail accounts sometimes does not work → Password protection of mail accounts has problems
I turned the feature off. Now it created duplicate entries for the POP3 servers in the password file. One with mailbox://, the other with xmailbox:// ...
OS: Windows 98 → Windows 95

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
