Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 The summary really covers it. The bookmarks are there for as long as I keep Mozilla open, and they all work fine. Once I close Mozilla and open it again, they're gone. (I installed this version after following the instruction on removing a previous Mozilla (1.4), but I still had a few problems. Could it be that I didn't install this one correctly? It could be unrelated, but the 1.5 I'm using also tends to crash when going to the espn.com website and even --- oddly --- when I looked at an email I forwarded home from work that contained a web site. I didn't open the message or click on the link --- just selecting it in my mailbox caused Mozilla to crash. but I gether that's a Bug for another time.) At any rate, I can't imagine this will be reproducable. (Sorry.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Shut down Mozilla 2. Open it again 3. Poof! Actual Results: The only items listed under bookmarks are "Bookmark this page," "File bookmark," and "Manage bookmarks." If I bookmark a NEW page and close mozilla, the new bookmark will be gone when I open it again. Expected Results: well, they should be there. I look in the Preferences > Mozilla > Profiles folder, and the "bookmarks.html" file inexplicably disappears when I close Mozilla but doesn't reappear when I open it again. The theme is toyfactory (I'm embarrassed to say I downloaded 1.5 because I like the theme.). I must have done something wrong with the install, but I can't imagine anything that would delete files like this. Thank you for looking into this. Oh! It seems similar to Bug 79411, if that helps. (Not really the same thing, but it also talks about mysteriously disappearing bookmarks.)
