Details
An file, once attached to an outgoing message, can't be removed.
To reproduce:
1. New Msg
2. Attach a file
3. Select the file name in the attachments box
4. Press delete
Actual results: The character to the right of wherever the cursor is, is deleted
Expected results: The eattachment is removed
Linux build 1999.12.20.12
There is a work around that user can do. If you want to remove a file
attachment from the mail compose window, you want to do the following:
1) Highlight the desired attachment (url) in the attachment area.
2) Select the File menu and choose Attach->Remove File Attachment
The attachment url will be removed.
I checked this work around works on the commercial seamonkey build linux
1999-12-21-08-m13, win32 1999-12-21-09-m13, and macos 1999-12-21-08-m13.
The work around should also work in M12.

comment from bug 26782:

Hey guys, if you put a tree in a toolbar, and don't explicitly override the
user-focus CSS rule for toolbars (user-focus:ignore) then the tree won't get
focus. IE no key events. Set the user-focus style to "normal".
I tried this with the attachment tree in mail compose, and this fixed the
problem.
Tossing back to syd.

Also, Jean-Francois, can you add the style over-ride for the compose attachment
pane and check it in under this bug so we can at least fix that part?

The side effect of doing this is that I cannot tab anymore from the subject to the body! else, works much better.

Mass moving to M16 to get these off the M15 radar. Please let me know if this
is really an M15 stopper.

Fixed and checked in. Now you can remove aan attachment by using either the
backspace key or the delete key. The menu item "Remove Attachment" has been
removed.
