User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007 Firebird/0.7 If you're in a hurry, you don't need to read this; everything essential is in the summary above. Very surprised not to find any bug report on this even though someone seems to ask about alphabetical bookmark sorting every few days in the forums (often after being frustrated by spending lots of time first fruitlessly trying to solve the problem and then looking for an answer in the forums -- who knows how many people try out FB and give up just because of this problem and the lack of info about the temporary solution). The current inability of Firebird to automatically (or at least semi-automatically by right-clicking as in IE) sort bookmarks alphabetically is probably one of the main reasons the average user would never (yet) dream of switching from IE to FB. That's why i find it *very* strange that none of the FAQs (http://texturizer.net/firebird/faq.html nor http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=29534) mention the problem and the cool temporary solution, MBS, which nevertheless doesn't help with the single instead of double A--Z list problem. In case my summary was not descriptive enough, here's a copy of my correspondence on this bug with Corey Taylor: No, that only gets the main folder's folders and bookmarks into two consecutive A--Z lists; it doesn't work for subfolder contents. I'd imagine this is a well-known bug, but i'll check it out. Yes, that "solves" the problem, but only for the main folder, but even that makes no sense to me.
