The following HTML (with an image in a table cell) lays out wrong. In nav and IE, you get a nice small (icon-sized) image. In Gecko, it's huge. It could be either a table bug or an image bug. <html> <body> <table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=1> <tr> <td><B>Directories</B></td> </tr> <tr> <td><B>Library</B></td> </tr> <tr><td><img src="bart.gif"></td></tr> <tr> <td valign=top> <A href="HTTP://www.earthwebdirect.com"> <img src="bart.gif" width="85%" height="85%" > </A> </td> </TR> </table> </body> </html>

the table is auto-width, meaning it has no width attributes specified and therefore gets all it's width information from its contents. So I think it must be an image problem. I don't know who owns the IMG object, so I'm assigning this to Troy. You can farm it out to sparky or kipp or whoever, if you ain't the guy.

The reduced example looks okay now
Status: RESOLVED → VERIFIED
Using the 1.28.99 builds, I don't see any discernable layout or image rendering problems with the sample code (pasting in a JPEG image), or with www.developer.com, on Mac OS, Win32 or Linux. I do note that on Linux, the image is shrunk to 85% by truncating 15% of the image, rather than by scaling it, but it sounds too obvious to be unknown. (will research.) Thus, I'm marking as verified.
