Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.The problem is solved deleting the .msf files. applicationsdata, but
2.in less than 5 days I have to delete the .msf files again. And on it goes.
3.
Actual Results:
it starts all over again
Expected Results:
make sure that .msf files doesn`t sloooooooow down the email client
You can`t use mozilla with many emailclients/subfolders and send/recieve many
emails/day
No problem here on Win2k
Summary: Mozilla becomes very sloooooooooooow sendig/reciving/moving emails → Mozilla becomes very sloooooooooooow sendig/reciving/moving emails
Some additional comments (from troubleshooting the problem for the original
poster) which may be helpful:
- He uses Mozilla Mail for a large number of mail accounts / messages (business
usage), so they probably cannot be replicated by the average user.
- The problem seems to be directly connected to the mail summary files. When
they are deleted and consequently rebuilt by Mozilla, sending mail works fine,
but they grow quickly to several Megabytes. Once the pass a certain size, the
problem reoccurs.
So IMHO, either Mozilla has problems with *.msf files above a certain size
(maybe depending on the system's available RAM) or the files become corrupted.

do you have a particular folder that's very large? Or do you delete mass
quantities of e-mail (like 1000's a day)? Which particular .msf files are
getting this big? How big are the corresponding folders? And finally, are these
imap or pop3 folders?
