Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031208 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031208 This one is a hard one to explain, but I'll try my best. When trying to send a message for the first time, Mozilla Mail prompts me for my software security device password (I use S/MIME signing by default). I'm a keyboard user and don't like to toggle between the mouse and the keyboard. So I typically use CTRL-ENTER to send my messages rather than clicking on the send button. Unfortunately, the first time I send a message and hit CTRL-ENTER, the software security device password prompt is under the "Sending Messages" popup window, forcing me to use the mouse. Strangly, if instead of using CTRL-ENTER to send the message I decide to click on the send button, the security device password prompt appears in the foreground. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up S/MIME signing as your default preference. 2. Exit all Mozilla mail/browser windows. 3. Go to Mozilla mail, compose a short message, and hit CTRL-ENTER to send now. Note that the password box appears in the background, so you'll have to use your mouse to get focus. 4. Now, exit all Mozilla mail/browser windows. Restart Mozilla Mail. Repeat step 3, but instead of using CTRL-ENTER to send a message, click on the Send button. Notice that the password box now appears in the foreground. Actual Results: After performing steps 1-3, the password box appeared in the background, forcing me to toggle between the keyboard and the mouse. Expected Results: To be consistent, Mozilla Mail should have presented the password box in the foreground (i.e., in focus). Doing so allows keyboard users to not have to go searching for the mouse.
