The installer has a checkbox to launch Firebird, but not to open the readme.

The readme that's currently included is just a stub that points to getfirefox.com, so there'd be no point in having an option to display it.
I personally think the first run page should provide this functionality. It would then apply to all platforms as well. We are also looking at different ways to remove things from the installer especially for the standard install and I'd prefer not to add things like this. If you think this should still be part of the installer please reopen. If you think this should be part of the first run page either reopen and move to the correct component or file a new bug against the correct component. Resolving -> wontfix
