User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031214 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6b) Gecko/20031214 If looking at mail sorted by date, clicking on the threading column header overrides date sort order, with the result that threads are sorted by the date of the first message (I think). I believe the behavior when pressing the threaded column header should be identical to the behavior of selecting View / Messages / Threaded, which maintains sorting by date, resulting in the generally more useful result that threads are sorted by most recently received message. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on Date column header to sort by date 2. Click on Threading column header Arrow on Date column header will disappear; messages will be sorted by first received message in thread. Proper behavior can be achieved by: 1. Click on Date column header to sort by date 2. Click on View / Messages / Threaded Arrow will still be indicated on date column header; messages will be sorted by most recently received message in thread.
Duplicate described a fix that is in place, in 1.6b and subsequent builds. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 219787 ***
