Although I have installed the German XPI-Languagekit and it was installed
successfully, there is no way to get it activated. Followed the steps, repeated
it with uninstalling and reinstalling, selecting in Preferences > Appearance,
restarting Mozilla, but the German Language will not show up.

Using OS X 10.3.1

Followed the recommended Install-procedure.
Actual Results:  
No German language will be displayed.

Expected Results:  
Display Menues etc in German.

I observered some similar, strange behaviour with the german XPI, especially on
Win 2000 (on three separate Win 2000 installations, no tests on Unix/Linux yet):

- install through moz.1.6 Win installer. In the Win 2000 Administrator Login
install the german XPI too
- quit moz., restart: the whole UI is german
- after some more starts, the UI occassionaly reverts back to english language
(unfortunately only "sometimes" ..). The result are mixed-language menue items  
- The menue item "Settings, Appearance, Language/Content" always remains in
"german" state, even when the UI partly switched back to english

So, soemthing may be wrong with the lang pack... I would put this into the
"critical" or "blocker" category (at least for the lang pack itself!)

OS-independent ...

@ #3 I sometimes have the same problem, mostly after "forced" reboots of my OS

@ reporter:

did you try to completly exit (incl. Quickstart) than after restart of Moz
switching to english-completly exit again, and then switch to german.

after the next restart it should work!

Attachment: Sudden Change: The Apple-Menue and Mozilla Menues

Two weeks ago all of a sudden the Mozilla-Menues will show in German, but the
Apple-Menue is in English. When Mozilla is quit, the Apple-Menue will return to

German as specified in the Preferences.

Unfortunately I do not know what action exactly caused this to happen. It just
happened all of a sudden. I do regularly cron-jobs and almost never shut down
the computer but put it to sleep.

I think this is a dupe of 235058, you might have triggered a case where we used
the non-functional code even before it came to be visible by everyone. This
should be fixed after 1.7 Alpha (and actually in my versions of 1.7 Alpha, i.e.
German binaries and builds which do a global install of my language pack).
