Norton kicks our an alert that it has deleted a copy of mydoom virus whenever
I try to download mail. Have run virus scans that comes up negative. Presume
infection hiding inside of Mozilla 1.6a. The mozilla mail system then locks
up while downloading first message.
Runing fixmydoom from symantec reports no infection after scanning all files.
Looks like something is trying to download the viruse within mozilla. Plan
to try installing 1.6 and see if it fixes it. It didn't.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open mozilla 1.6
2. let it try to download mail
3.
Actual Results:
e-mail system locked up usually during first message download.

Did you delete all messages with a virus and (important !) run File/Compact
Folders ?

Product: MailNews → Core
for workarounds see
http://kb.mozillazine.org/index.phtml?title=Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Anti-virus_Software
(same for Mailnews)
The infected mail was on server, Mailnews hangs on downloading due to access
deny from NAV, inbox lost. So afterwards the virus is not found.
