233802 - After reboot, all profile info in Mozilla 1.6 gone

Windows XP locked up for unknown reasons (I believe Outlook/Word to be
responsible). Mozilla 1.6 was running at the time of the lockup. After reboot
and restart of Mozilla 1.6, all profile info was missing. No boobmarks, all
preferences reset to defaults. All info in Mail and Newsgroups gone as well.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:

I believe profile information should be stored in such a way so if the operating
systems crashes, profile information is not vulnerable. A simple profile backup
utility would be handy too. Maybe there is one I am unaware of.

Could be dupe of Bug 193749.

There are a lot of RFEs and bugs about preventing dataloss and restoring profile
information. See Bug 123929.
