User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8 Firefox has the option to auto fill in passwords and also to fill in forms. I have disabled the saved passwords feature for security but have enabled saved form information. (cos it's useful!) What I don't like about form fill is that it doesn't distinguish between normal fields and username fields (especially in HTTPS websites). I don't like leaving my username in the open because it's like giving half the key to a potential hacker in my view. IE has a check box which allows you to disable filling in username and passwords. I would like to request for a similar feature to enable form fill but prevent Firefox from filling up username fields. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enter logon website 2. Enter username and password 3. Actual Results: On reentering the website, and typing my username. The formfill feature displays my full username. Expected Results: Should there be an option to disable username formfill, no username would be prompted.
Component: Password Manager → Autocomplete
Summary: Feature request: Ability to disable username formfill (especially on HTTPS pages) → Ability to disable form autocomplete for username fields
This is covered by disabling form autofill and we don't intend to break it out as a second option.
