233959 - Firefox will not remember certain URL's in the drop down history

type in cnn.com or espn.com and they will not save in the url location history.
 They will show up in history, but they will not be listed in the drop down list
of the url location field.



Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. type in cnn.com and go to the site
2. close the browser
3. look and see if cnn.com is listed in the drop down list in the url field. 
its not.  same goes for espn.com



Expected Results:  
saved the sites in the url dropdown history

Bug repro's for me. Here are some additional details:

- If you try and go to www.cnn.com & close the browser, it will save it in the 
dropdown address bar
- if you go to cnn.com & close the browser, it wont save it in the dropdown 
address bar
- if you go to cnn.com and before closing the browser, check the address-bar 
dropdown, http://cnn.com will be present there. after restarting the browser 
however, it disappears again!

Same with espn.com and ALL other websites. skipping the "www." somehow makes 
FireFox skip the dropdown address-bar save.

I was able to replicate the bug.

I would suggest a few follow-up tests :-

1. Testing different formats of website entries : 
a. http://www.cnn.com
b. www.cnn.com
c. cnn.com
d. cnn
e. Running the above mentioned tests will help us find out if a particular 
format of a website causes the URL to not appear in the drop down history
2. Testing to see if the same bug occurs in other operating systems like Linux 
to figure out if the bug is platform dependent.
