Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031007

I cannot request mails from my second gmx-account, when I have two gmx-account
specified within mozilla.
(In fact I´m not sure that it is not a gmx-problem.)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Creating two gmx-mail-accounts
2. In properties for "server for outgoing mails" I created for each one of
them an account (each one named "mail.gmx.net")
3. In the properties for each account I choose the right "mail.gmx.net" (I´m
not really sure, because I choose the only because of the order - the name is
completely the same - but I tried different versions)

Actual Results:
When I request mails from my second gmx-account, I get the message: "Sending
of password was not successful. The mail-server pop.gmx.net answered:
Authentication failed"

Expected Results:
I think the software is looking for the right server-settings by it´s name,
but because there is the same name, it takes always the settings from the
first "mail.gmx.net"
And this is a browser bug why?

Are you sure you don't mixed the different "Benutzernummer" from GMX for the
accounts (the POP3 server)? Or you don't set the correct SMTP for every account
(you can use for one mail.gmx.de)? Do you use the Password Manager?

for configuration see http://www.gmx.net/de/hilfe/netscape6.pdf or
http://faq.gmx.de/messages/mailprogramme/einrichtung/3.html
If anything it's POP3, so reassigning.

I'll give you an answer (though I can't verify this). Most likely gmx has the
server setup so that it won't allow multiple connections. This is to limit
their load, and ensure you keep to their Terms of Service, which most likely
limits to one account per person.

I'm pretty sure this I'm right and this is INVALID. But I'll let the bug
reporter have a chance at verifying this.

With a less scientific approach: There quite a few mozilla users who have gmx
email addresses. I think this would have come up before.

wfm I have to gmx pop accounts and it does work for over 2 years now flawless
with mozilla.

Yes, I´m sure that I didn´t mix the “Benutzernummer”. I tried it several times
with different settings. I use password-manager, but because I call it the first
time I am asked for the password.

There are not two accounts for ME. One of these accounts is for my girl-friend,
who is using the same PC. So I think it´s not a problem of gmx?!?
My sister works also with 2 GMX accounts with no problems at all (for Get All
New Messages). Did you try the following?

File -> Get New Messages for -> Acc. 1
after success
File -> Get New Messages for -> Acc. 2

Does this work? See
http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#pop for details
about a log.
