User-Agent: Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7b) Gecko/20040222 Firefox/0.8.0+ Please see screenshot: http://www.ulujain.org/images/objectnowork.gif An image is embedded in a page using OBJECT using valid (X)HTML. The image appears in the normal page view. If you right click and select Page Info --> Media, you do not get the image displayed. You get a generic icon. Other people have reported the same result using Firebird/Fox. If the image is marked up using IMG, it is selectable and saveable from the Page Info --> Media tab. The image has the proper MIME type associated with it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Embed an image using OBJECT 2. Right click on page containing OBJECT 3. Try and select/save the image in Page Info --> Media Actual Results: Nothing happens. The image is not selectable/saveable Expected Results: Displayed an image in the list of media types.
I can confirm this both with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040130 Firebird/0.8.0+ (aebrahim) and Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040206 Firefox/0.8
Confirmed on Linux: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040221 Firefox/0.8.0+ (daihard: XFT+GTK2; opt. for P4/SSE-2) The image can be saved using right-click in the viewport, but the Media tab of the Page Info dialog displays a stretched broken image icon on a white background and refuses to save the image.

added comment to start. if type="image/jpg" is left out of the object tag it is only displayed by the browser but you cannot get properties, rightclick saveas or anything. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040208 Firebird/0.8.0+SVG-GDI

I'm confirming this bug too, but I suspect that its not a downloading bug, because I can download the image through other means, but rather a bug in the Page Info code. --> NEW

The OS still says Windows 2000 - I can trigger this bug on Linux, as I reported in comment #2.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040602 Firefox/0.8.0+ (daihard: XFT+GTK2; opt. for P4/SSE-2) This bug is still present, with the original testcase.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040609 Firefox/0.8.0+ (daihard: XFT+GTK2; opt. for P4/SSE-2) Still broken.

Patch 162252 from bug 239472 has been checked in, so this bug is partially fixed: images embedded with the OBJECT tag are selectable and savable from Page Info. The preview is still not displayed (you get a generic icon). Moreover, displayed dimensions of the picture are wrong: Width: 40px, Height: 40px Physical Width: 0px, Physical Height: 0px It may be good to change the title of this bug. This is not Firefox specific -> Browser / Page Info
