I have been a Mozilla user since before version 1 and I am now sick of the
people who review and respond to bug reports, so much so, that I am done trying
to participate in the bug tracking system, and I am probably going to go back to
using IE which works a whole lot better anyway.
The bug reviewers / developers seem to have an extremely rotten attitude which
is directed at the people who actually take the time to try to report bugs.
Invariably, the bug reports entered by normal people (that is to say
socially-adept people who do not understand every computer-term ever coined) are
not filled out to the satisfaction of the developers who, in turn, do an even
worse job of trying to figure out the meaning of the bug report.
Of course I understand that there must be some bug reports that cannot be
interpreted without further information, but NOT SO with many of the reports
that I have seen snippy and condescending responses to. If I can understand
them, I find it impossible to believe that a developer could not.
It seems like the bug reporting tool is just a front for making an appearance of
concern over the bugs reported by the public, when in fact the developers are
all busy focusing on some other agenda which is completely unrelated.
It has also been my experience that the reviewers will only read a bug report
until they see something in the report that they can split hairs about, like a
typo, and then they will stop reading, responding only to the one miniscule
problem within the report, and completely ignoring the meat of the report.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to bugzilla.mozilla.org and try to enter a bug
2. a developer will mark it as unconfirmed despite your best reporting efforts,
and they will likely address you in a condescending manner in the process
3. try to further enhance your bug report
4. see 2 above
5. repeat until unwilling to continue with no resolution
Actual Results:
My blood pressure has risen and my patience has been exhausted.
Expected Results:
The software? The software is just fine, it's these self-important,
hair-splitting, arrogant, rude asses who represent the Mozilla organization who
are the problem. Try getting off your high horses and attempting to adopt a
helpful attitude towards the NICE PEOPLE who come by and offer up their feedback
for your benefit. I don't care if the developers are vollunteers, most
organizations don't want vollunteers that make the organization look bad. If
you're not going to try and do a good job, don't bother doing anything at all
you misterable bastards. I'm sick of you and nobody on this planet actually
NEEDS Mozilla for any purpose at all.
I have tried reporting bugs and I have seen the results of many other frustrated
users who have tried to report bugs and it is clear that a hideous cancer has
infected this open source organization which causes it's developers to act like
asses, to the shame of the whole organization. Try being nice to people who are
only entering bug reporte because they want to help.

This bug is so vague and generalized as to be unfixable. It is therefore
invalid. But really, you shouldn't file a bug about human problems -- those
can't be fixed by patches to code, and that's an even better reason this bug is
invalid. I hope this isn't a set-up, where you can point to my comment and
claim to be victimized by it, too. That would be ironic, though, from my point
of view ;-).
Mail me in private naming at least one rude person, giving several specific
examples (cite bug and comment numbers), and I'll see what I can do, human to
human, to fix the problem.
