23863 - [Regression] selecting category in tree blanks it out

Status: VERIFIED DUPLICATE of bug 23530

Description

[sairuh (rarely reading bugmail)]

occurs on today's comm bits (200001130x) for linux and windows --haven't checked
on mac since its build isn't currently ready.

1. open prefs: Edit > Preferences...
2. select any(*) of the categories in the tree.
3. repeat 1-2 to other categories.

(*) for some reason, the top and bottom two categories (Appearance, Fonts, Mouse
Wheel, Debug) aren't affected by this bug.

result: the category's name is blanked out in grey. fortunately, the catgory's
content does appear in the right pane. and previously selected categories remain
blanked out (need to close Prefs to see 'em again).

expected: a selected category should be highlighted AND previously selected
categories should not be blank or highlighted.

resizing dialog or scrolling the list repaints the blanked out prefs.

tested on 1/13 win32 build

I'm sure there is a dupe of this somewhere but I can't find it.

This shuld be XP but I don't see it on the Mac 2000011310 build, all the
2000011313 (WinNT, RH 6) builds to demonstrate the problem.
I see the problem with all trees - not just prefs.
Open Bookmarks|Manage Bookmarks and click on any node 'cept the first
or last.
Open the sidebar with the 'Related' panel. Click on any of those nodes and they
exhibit the behavior.
