User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040207 Firefox/0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040207 Firefox/0.8 The first time Firefox blocks a pop-up, it shows (er... pops up) a dialog box explaining about the icon you can click to enable pop-ups for the site if necessary. The trouble is, THERE IS NO SUCH ICON ANYWHERE IN THE UI at the time this message is displayed! Only after you dismiss the message does the icon appear in the status bar. This is confusing, and makes the user think they are stupid because the message says there is this icon but the user can't find it. It would be better to display the icon *before* showing the user the explanation about it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start firefox with a new empty profile, and view www.gigabyte.com.tw (which currently tries to show a pop-up). One way to do this is to start a second firefox process from a terminal; this will show the profiles dialog even if you initially have only one profile. Then, create a new "Testprofile" and start with it. Actual Results: The pop-up explanation dialog appears, but the icon it talks about does not exist (yet). Expected Results: Create the icon (and make it live) before showing the explanation message.
This was fixed after 0.8 Please test in nightly builds to report bugs. Thanks. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 196474 ***
