There was a mentioning that this did not occur in Linux.

This only happens when Mozilla is in strict mode.

This isn't a worksforme, but a resolved->fixed since the depending bug was fixed.
Some time ago I did exactly that, but then I got this mail (this was about bug
170702) from Brendan Eich (I don't think he'll mind):
"
A bugzilla purist will probably come along and mark that WORKSFORME or
(if proven to be fixed by the fix for bug 244366 as you said) DUP.  Just
marking it FIXED without a patch that landed is a little wrong.
"
So basically that's the reason why I mark these kind of bugs now WORKSFORME.
