Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4.1) Gecko/20031114 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4.1) Gecko/20031114 In GNU/linux mozilla, window always appear in the 0,0 location, as one see using xprop (and clicking on mozilla window). Here is part of the output: [...] WM_NORMAL_HINTS(WM_SIZE_HINTS): program specified location: 0, 0 program specified minimum size: 0 by 0 window gravity: NorthWest [...] I have tried to find out a way to avoid setting the location, but I didn't succed. If mozilla tries to do the job of the window manager (place windows), it should at least have an option that disables such behaviour. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Place your desktop launcher panel (gnome panel or kde kicker) on left border, such that if application starts on 0,0, it will be in front of such panel. 1. Open any mozilla component (browser, mail, profile manager, preferences dialog) 2. run xprop and click on that window 3. at the end, see that WM_NORMAL_HINTS(WM_SIZE_HINTS): program specified location: 0, 0 is there. Actual Results: If window manager obeys wm hints, it always goes to program specified location, which is always 0,0, even if such location puts window over more important desktop components. Expected Results: It should put window where the *desktop* decides it is the best place.
